Wifi Troubleshooting
If you're experiencing issues with the WiFi, try the following steps to reconnect:
Check Your Connection
- Ensure WiFi is enabled on your device.
- Confirm you're connected to the correct network hunter_guest and using the right password.
Restart Your Device
- Sometimes, simply turning your phone, tablet, or laptop off and back on can resolve connectivity issues.
Move Closer to the Router
- If the signal is weak, try moving closer to the WiFi router which is situated in the living room. Thick walls or large appliances may interfere with the signal.
Restart the WiFi Router
- If the connection is slow or not working, unplug the router from the power outlet.
- Wait 30 seconds, then plug it back in and allow a few minutes for it to restart.

How to use...
House ammenities
There is a remote to open them hanging on the wall next to the thermostat, the remote can very finicky, the display may show an error. Most important, if it rains while the skylights are open, there is a sensor that automatically closes the windows. This works pretty well.
I Need to engage support, I probably need to replace the remote with a gateway that is smart home enabled. Still working through it.
Living Room Blind
The remote control that controls the blinds over the 3 big living room windows is on the wall between the blinds. You can open and close the blinds one by one or all at once. Left and right can toggle to blind 1, 2 or 3. If all lights are lit you can control all at once.
Alexa
I try to automate as much as possible, and I'm still working on a few things. We have an Alexa in the Master Bedroom and the Living room/Dining room.
The living room should be connected to the Bluetooth speaker below it. If not, make sure the power is on and ask Alexa to connect
“Alexa, connect to device” also, try
“Alexa, play RIP 97.9 radio” (Local station, my favorite for classic radio style music, DJ and local information.
And any of the smart devices I have connected. Changes are if it has a label it’s setup.
“Alexa, Turn on/off Outside Lights”
“Alexa,Turn on/off Dining Lights”
“Alexa,Turn on/off Fireplace Track Lights”
“Alexa,Turn on/off the Bedroom Balcony light”
“Alexa,Turn on/off Front door House Lights”
Fireplace
Use the wood provided next to the fireplace and on the kitchen balcony. Not all wood is suitable for an indoor fireplace, and pine is not one of them. Moist wood will create lots of smoke, and evergreens (“Pine”) contain a resin that burns quickly and produces embers that pop and can rise up through the chimney onto the roof. Don’t use the fireplace for burning charcoal or coal!
When lighting the fire in the fireplace, ensure the flue is open and start by warming the flue. Hold a newspaper or a cardboard lit up to the flue to create a warm air draft. This will reduce the smoke entering the living room, filling the house…
Heating
The thermostats are all marked and set to 68 degrees. Adjust to your comfort. There is an additional space heater in the ground-floor bedroom.
Avoid using the big Heater in the dining room, it makes a lot of noise and works against the baseboard heating in the living room, just based on where the thermostat is.
Also, turn the thermostat off when using the Fireplace.
Air Conditioning
There are two central units. The Kitchen has a split unit with its thermostat next to the window and a wall unit at the top of the stairs.
The Split system thermostat has a power button, turn on and set the temperature.
Turn the Knob of the Wall Unit to Cool Energy Saver.
Skylights
There is a remote to open them hanging on the wall next to the thermostat, the remote can very finicky, the display may show an error. Most important, if it rains while the skylights are open, there is a sensor that automatically closes the windows. This works pretty well.
I Need to engage support, I probably need to replace the remote with a gateway that is smart home enabled. Still working through it.
